This course is intended as a baseline for the principles of Fire Dynamics. It will look into the variables that control a fire's growth and spread, threatening life, property and environment. It will attempt to take some of the repeatability of scientific parameters of fire presented by UL and NIST and apply them to the everyday fire environment. It is the hope that these principles will provide the opportunity for firefighters from Volunteers to Career Officers to begin to place their perceptions into the foundational boxes that shape our experiences on the fireground.
